Is it normal for a kitten to lose teeth?

Dear Dr. Baum —

I was brushing my 6 month old kitten’s teeth, and he lost two teeth – a fang and left back tooth. Is that normal?

Dear Melanie —

This is normal and appropriate. He will be losing more teeth through ten months of age.
