A Masturbating Cat Gets
Kicked out of Bed
|
|
| |
Dear Dr. Baum --
My male cat is 7 years old and masturbates a lot!
He has been doing this for several years. He is neutered. He licks
blankets while he is doing this. I was wondering what I can do to
stop this. He wakes me up at night licking the blanket and doing
this and I have to kick him out of bed.
Angie Waller,
Las Vegas, NV
Dear Angie:
You should remove the stimulants/props that allow him to live out
his fantasies. You should also have a testosterone level taken on
him. If he has a retained testicle in his abdomen that was not
removed when he was neutered his libido will be increased.
If all else fails, you can put him on a low dose of megesterol
acetate. If this is purely a psychological problem it will be
difficult to break due to the long standing nature of the problem.
